Busy

Wow, it has been a busy week. I worked the first two days. Then Wednesday was errands day. I had to get  new tags for my car and renew my driver's license. My Gran is so sweet to help me out, so she came with me to help with the girls. I was expecting it to take forever as it usually does at the DMV, but fortunately we were in and out of there in about 45 minutes! Then we went to lunch and off to get my hair cut. The rest of the week has been spent busily cleaning the house. We are tying to sell our house and are having an open house tomorrow. So I really want everything to be perfect! We've been doing projects around the house that  we have been planning since we moved in 5 years ago. How is it that you always wait to do things until you are selling? Then you realize how great the new fan or faucet or paint job looks and wish you'd done it sooner. Anyway, say some prayers that someone will at least come to look. We've had it on the market since the first of June and not a single showing yet. Here's to tomorrow!

Birthday fun

   Well this week was my 30th birthday. Last weekend my brother Aaron was in town from Houston where he is doing his surgery residency. That was nice since we don't get to see him that often. On Sunday, my mom did lunch after church since he was home and for my birthday. I got some really nice gifts. Plus Elizabeth and Charlotte got some cute gifts from Aaron's girlfriend Emily.
   On Tuesday (my actual birthday) my best friend Becca took me out to lunch. It was a pretty relaxing day. Then last night Trevor and I got to go out to the Melting Pot for some yummy cheese and chocolate. It was really nice to have an evening to ourselves. Overall I'm thinking 30 isn't going to be so bad: wonderful husband, the two cutest girls on the planet, loving family and great friends!

Lazy Days

It has been sooo hot lately that we've pretty much been hiding out in the basement where it is nice and cool. On the 4th, my brother-in-law, his wife, and 8 month old daughter came over. Christina and I did the grilling (even though we're not that good at it) and roasted to death in the 102 degree heat. It was too hot for the babies to be outside for fireworks. Plus just since we've been back from the trip, Elizabeth has been doing great with her bedtime and sleeping in her own bed. Don't want to mess with that!

Pool time fun

It's been almost too hot to go to the pool, but Saturday I took the girls. It was Charlotte's first time. After she got used to the water, she really seemed to enjoy it! It was also Charlotte's 3 month birthday!

Crazy

I think that going on a 3 week road/camping trip with a 3 month old and a 2 and a half year old may have confirmed the fact that I am crazy. Trevor had to work, so the girls and headed out with my parents and my grandma on an adventure. We first went up to South Dakota where we spent 5 days in Custer State Park. While there we went to Mount Rushmore, Lake Sylvan (via a crazy scary drive on Needles Scenic Hyway), and rode the 1880's train. From there we went across Wyoming and Montana to McCall, ID where we stayed at Ponderosa State Park for 8 days. All of my mom's siblings were there for a big family reunion. Then 5 days of traveling to home! We made it! Here are some of the pictures from the first half of our trip.
